New year, new resolution. I will try to create one blog post a week about the something to deal with computers/internet/security. Let's see how long this resolution keeps up.
Many examples of the government overstepping their bounds and attacking American citizen's liberties:
PATRIOT Act - the assault on the Bill of Rights began after the attacks of 9/11
Health care act - wasn't insurance designed to cover against catastrophes? Where do they get the idea that the Commerce clause of the Constitution can force people to enter private contracts to purchase the same?
War on Terror - there are laws against all of terrorist acts already. Almost as bad as the war against drugs.
SOPA/PIPA - freedom of speech online under attack.
Habeus Corpus - 6th and 7th Amendments under attacks in the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act (story)
Watching North Carolina - Michigan State play basketball on the deck of the carrier USS Carl Vinson, going to commercial they showed images of normal operations on the ship. MIL asks me - They are not landing on the ship while the game is going on, are they? #facepalm
